オリンピック用に出た、という彼の認識は正しいのでしょうか?

興味がおありのようなので、一応、原文をば。

Hello,

I am glad to hear some feedbacks about my sites.

I have never heard about the Olympic version of F.
Is there some marks or descriptions on the camera?

(I know a olympic version lens, 300mm/F2.8. It utilises
ED lens, but it is the first time to use it, so no marking
as "ED" on the lens ballel. It has no automatic aperture
 leaves .. preset stop lens.)

For taking sports photo, some special models exist named
high-speed motordriven F (7 frames/sec). See

http://www-inolab.sys.es.osaka-u.ac.jp/~shinsaku/nikomat/spnikon.htm

Two types of the high-speed motordriven F is shown in the last
figure of the site. In the last figure, the right two figures
are the high-speed F.

The left one has a half-mirror instead of the moving mirror.
In fact, this is a prototype one.

and the right one has a usual mirror which must be locked-up
when taking 7 frames/sec and the penta-prism cover has a shoe
to attach the outer finder on it.

Thank you for your recent reply to my brief letter. My old camera is
a motorized unit with a separate battery pack which is conected to the
motor drive with a short electric cable, (approximatly 2 feet long).
My F body has the same general appearence as the 2 photographs which
I am enclosing, (for your examination), however, it also has a special
multi-bright-frame view finder, (to assist in using lenses of different
focal lengths), which is attached by a spring loaded shoe on top of the
penta prism. The use of this second view finder is required when the
motorized unit is used at 7 frames per second and the mirror is placed
into the loccked-up position. If you are familiar with this old modified
F body, and you know something about its history or something about just
how many units are currently still in existance, please send me some
information about it. I thank you for your time and assistance.

Respectfully

Robin
Thomas (Post Script: I own 6 Nikon F bodies and I use them
in most all of my work.)
