以下のメールがきました。
ニューヨークで日本人の男性が子猫に骨を柔らかくする薬剤を与えた上で
ガラス瓶に押し込めた状態で育て、
瓶の形になった小型の「盆栽猫」をインターネットで売っているので、
酷い動物虐待として反対する署名です。
販売サイトのリンクがあるので見てください。
古来の技法（日本の？）を復活させているそうです。
無論、ネコ愛好家達は激怒しており、
FBIが捜査に乗り出したという情報もあり、
アメリカのニュースで話題になっているそうです。
....ところが、このサイトは全くのショークで、
実際にこういうことが行われているわけではないそうです。
サイトを少し詳しく見れば判ります。
しかし、日本人ならやるかも知れないと思われたのか
かなりの反対運動になっているようですね。
署名者にはいろんな国の人がいます。
みんな、実際にサイトを見ずに、署名の訴えだけを読んで署名しているらしい。
ということで、こういう署名やウイルス情報、珍しい血液型のドナー依頼などは
自分で信ぴょう性や必要性を確認してから転送するべきことを改めて感じました。
ぼくも血液ドナー依頼のメールを仕事関係のリストに回したら、
既に足りていたことがあとで判明したことがあります。
ネットは恐いですね。
People, please read this through. This may seem like another old pointless
forward, but this is serious. It will only take a couple of minutes of your

To everyone who respects and loves other living creatures:
In New York lives a Japanese man who sells "bonsai kittens." Seems cute
right?...totally NOT. This man crams poor helpless LIVE kittens into small
glass jars. He brings a tube up their anus, and superglues it in. The tube
runs to the outside of the jar, and allows for the kittens to relieve
themselves without making the jar messy.
So that the kittens take up the shape of the jar that they are in they are
injected with chemicals which reduce the calcium in the bones and makes
them soft.
The kittens stay like this...ALIVE...for however long they can endure the
torture. They kittens can't move, can't walk and can't clean themselves.
This disgusting act of inhumanity is becoming increasingly popular in New
York, China, Indonesia and New Zealand

This is a petition that will be sent to the animal protection
service/Humane Society in the U.S. and Mexico once 500 (the more the
better) people have added their name, to try and prevent this abuse to keep
on going and being tollerated any longer. I ask that you add your name to
the list and forward this to any of your friends who also respect other
living creatures. To keep the list leggible, we ask that you copy and paste
the list in a new e-mail when you forawrd it.
